I just made this top quality buffalo leather motorcycle bag, using all buffalo hide.
The bag measures 9" wide and will roll down to 4" or as tall as 7". It will hold your wallet, phone, some tools, a can of Foster's, a pint of..., well, you get the idea. It is a pretty roomy bag. I made the bag from American-sourced 6-ounce buffalo hide with a really awesome, super deep grain. It really has some excellent character. The leather is very strong, but is actually pretty soft; and the end gussets allow the bag to rest fairly flat when it is empty, With the tops of the end gussets being curved, it seals up pretty well, but it isn't waterproof. Being a high-quality leather, it will put up with getting wet and drying out; no problem.
I hand stitched the sides using heavy triple strand nylon thread. Everything else is riveted together. The straps and buckles are riveted in place.
The buckles are solid brass with nickle plating.
The straps on the back are designed to go around the forks above the front fender, above the fork brace, on the handlebars, or on a sissy bar. You can probably find other ways to attach it. Slide the end of the strap through the keeper, around the fork, and back through the keeper, and repeat for the other side. Buckle in the middle and you are done.
If you would like one of these in a different color, made from a different leather, or that attaches differently, or is personalized in some way; just drop me a line. I'm always happy to make something special.
