This is a very nice hand-made leather dagger sheath with an accompanying belt hanger (frog). The dagger sheath is styled after the legendary Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife sheath, and is actually shown with a F-S knife (not included!) in the listing pictures. The frog is made of heavy vegetable tanned leather and holds the dagger at an appropriate angle for a right handed person to cross draw. The sheath is made from the same strap leather split to a thinner weight, dyed black, and fitted with a brass stud to secure it to the frog. It is hand stitched. In fact, no powered tools of any type were used (or harmed) in the making of these items.
The dagger sheath fits a blade 1" wide at the hilt and 7"long. It actually fits better than the original F-S sheath and is sturdier. The brass stud prevents the sheath from dropping through or pulling out of the frog without using an inappropriate-looking snap. The tip of the sheath is a double layer of leather, rather than a metal chape.
The frog holds the sheath at a good angle for cross-draw, and is sized for a 1 1/2" belt. The body of the frog is heavy strap leather and the straps are lighter weight leather of the same type. The straps are secured with brass rivets.
I realize the sizing on this is really specific, so please feel free to contact me to make a set to fit your specific dagger and belt combination. Other color combinations are available, as well.
IMPORTANT! The knife in the picture is from my personal collection and is NOT included.
